Beyond home confinement

From Internet:
• theverge.com, March 19: Instagram won’t approve new augmented reality effects because of COVID-19 limitations
• cnbc.com, March 19: Apple limits bulk online purchases of iPhones amid coronavirus supply constraints
• dailymail.co.uk, March 24: Officials in Fuzhou, Fujian Province of southern China, have adjusted the number of divorce appointments to 10 couples a day after receiving an overwhelming amount of requests

I could continue with this list of limitations. There is much to read about cases like the first 2 entries above due to demand hikes or infrastructure capacities. But there are very few cases cited similar to the last entry, where the social changes are taken into account.

While waiting for the outbreak to pass and observing the published guidelines and limitations, I think we will have enough time to consider the effects of COVID-19 on our social life.

Also in home confinement? I would recommend the psychoanalyst Erich Fromm’s book if you haven’t already read it: To Have or To Be.
